If you have not had the chance to attend VMworld 2010 in Copenhagen, you would certainly be holding in your hands one of the devices being given away at the nComputing stand. The device presented there was a small lightweight client L 300 which was given away for interested users and bloggers. I agreed to test the device and report on that through my blog.

Jeter reacted by wincing dramatically and cradling his elbow, and when he was awarded first base, he did not argue.He told me to go to first base. I’m not going to tell him I’m not going to first, you know,” Jeter said.”It’s part of the game. My job is to get on base. Fortunately for us it paid off at the time, but I’m sure it would have been a bigger story if we would have won that game.”

Maddon disliked the call but didn’t fault Jeter.

”If our guys had did it, I would have applauded that. It’s a great peformance on his part,” the Tampa Bay manager said. ”Several players are very good at that. And again, I’m not denigrating it. If our guy does it, I’m very happy with that if we end up getting the call. … Fortunately it didn’t cost us.”

The Rays responded with two runs in the bottom of the seventh and won the game 4-3 to retake first place in the American League East division.

The nation’s capital will have a new mayor after voters Tuesday ousted Adrian Fenty, a backer of education reform who some said had become out of touch.

Fenty lost the city’s Democratic primary to District of Columbia Council Chairman Vincent Gray just four years after sweeping into office with unprecedented support. The victory virtually assures that Gray will be the city’s next mayor. He faces no GOP competition in November and the city is overwhelmingly Democratic. Fenty has said he will not be a write-in candidate.

Early Wednesday, with 90 percent of precincts reporting, Gray had 59,285 votes or 53 percent, compared with 50,850 votes for Fenty, or 46 percent.

“Now it’s time for us to look forward, now we can work to unite our great city so that every resident has not only a voice, but has a role in facing the challenges we have ahead,” Gray said during a speech early Wednesday at the Washington Court Hotel near Union Station, where he celebrated with supporters.

“Thank you District of Columbia! Tonight, the people of the District sent a message loud and clear that they want to bring character, integrity and leadership back to the Mayor’s office, and that it’s time we come together as ‘One City!’ A short while ago I received a call from Mayor Fenty. I congratulated him for running a hard and spirited campaign, and he was gracious in offering his support moving forward. Despite our differences, I know that Adrian Fenty shares our commitment to this city. Fluid Smartphone Concept Can Curl up Around Your Wrist

The idea of wearing your gadgets as piece of clothing or accessory hasn't really picked up. We have had t-shirts with embedded lighting job and heart-shaped USB drives but how often do we really find people carrying such stuff? Not Really. The Fluid Wearable Smartphone Concept by Dinard da Mata believes in delivering mobility and ease of use to its users.

Well, we have had flexible OLED technology at present so this concept doesn't look extremely farfetched. The idea of a wearable hi-tech gadget has been experimented before but I doubt if any of it is in the production mills. Given its thin attire, this conceptual smartphone wouldn't occupy much of a space. As seen in the images, the designer suggests that the phone would double into a fashion accessory and can be worn around the wrist.

No word on the futuristic specs that this smartphone would offer. I don't know how soon something like this would hit the market but probably the next Bond movie could use this as a prop.

If you visit Google on Saturday, September 4th, or visit a Google property where it is already September 4th such as Google New Zealand, you will see a special Google logo. The logo is of a buckyball or fullerence, which is any molecule composed entirely of carbon, in the form of a hollow sphere, ellipsoid, or tube.
