Five digit train Nos. start from December 20, Check New Train Number here
Trains numbers will undergo change in their train numbers with effect from December 20. Those booking their tickets for dates either online or at the stations need to check the numbers. As per the Railway Board's order all existing numbers of trains have been renumbered with five-digit numbers, replacing 4-digit ones. Some trains that had alphabets had been totally converted into numerical.
All express trains will take a pre-fix of digit one (1) and depending on the category of the trains like passenger and special trains different number is prefixed. For example, the daily train krishna express No. 7406/7405 has been re-numbered as 17406/17405 and Bhubaneswar – Tirupati Special Train No. 0871/0872 has been re-numbered as 08471/08472.
