“Wanjale was brought to the hospital at 8.30 pm with no recordable blood pressure and no pulse. We tried to resuscitate him by administering all emergency medical help, but could not succeed. He was declared dead at 9.50 pm,” said Prasad Mugalikar, director, medical services at Jehangir Hospital.

Wanjale had an appointment for an MRI scan at Joshi Hospital on Friday after he complained of shoulder and spinal pain. “He was advised to undergo shoulder, cervical spine and whole spine screening. He arrived at around 7 pm at the MRI section. He collapsed soon after he was taken for screening. Our doctors revived his heart beat with the help of a cardiac massage and a cardiac defibrillator. But his relatives insisted on taking him to Jehangir Hospital. An ambulance with doctors accompanied him. His son-in-law was with him along with some party workers,” Ashish Atre, radiologist at Joshi Hospital, said.

As news about Wanjale’s condition spread, party workers gathered at Jehangir Hospital where there was heavy police bandobast. Deputy commissioner of police zone I Dnyaneshwar Phadtare said, “As a precautionary measure, we have stepped up police security in the city.”

Hence Romesh Babu preferred a police complaint accusing Sakthi for which the latter now made counter complaint for cheating. Will the police rescue both amicably?

Just like its promos, the music of upcoming film Shaitan is also edgy, quirky and quite away from the realms of a typical Bollywood venture. The album has been put together by four composers and a music band with a variety of singers behind the mike.

The soundtrack of the film that is about a group of five youngsters boasts of 14 tracks.

The album kickstarts with a short instrumental called Enter composed by Prashant Pillai.

Next comes in Bali-the sound of shaitan that has been doing the rounds of channels for some time now.

Composed by Pillai, most of the song's lyrics sound gibberish except a few lines here and there, but the music is cutting edge and catches the attention of the listener instantly, owing to its quirky nature.

It has been crooned by K.S Krishnan, Preeti Pillai, Kalloist, Farhad Bhiwandiwalla and Hitesh Modak.

Then there is Nasha churned out by Pillai again. The song has been inspired by the bond of friendship. It is moderately paced but orchestration is reasonably strong. A lot of experimentation with sound is witnessed in this track that has vocals by the composer himself along with Bindu Nambiar.

The song also has a rock and soul version where Pillai has been replaced by Ranjit Barot and Farhad Bhiwandiwalla for the vocals.

Josh composed by Amar Mohile and sung by colin Terence, Abhishek and Shradha starts with English rap and then goes on to Hindi lyrics. The song is contemporary from the word go and has majorly used the saxophone in the composition.

Then there is Fareeda, a slow-paced, free flowing track with a slight rock feel. The music in the song is commendable and very engaging, especially the guitar lead towards the end. This has been voiced by Suraj Jagan and has been composed by Pillai.

Up next is a recreated version of Hawa hawai, a song from the 1987 film Mr. India. The original was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy.

For Shaitan it has been recreated by Mikey McCleary and has been sung in a more contemporized style by Suman Sridhar. This version is slower in pace as compared to the original.

O yaara with Pillai as the composer again and singers like Kirti Sagathia and Preeti Pillai, starts with a Shehnai prelude. The track has a qawalli touch along with other influences added to it. This one is slightly close to the common Bollywood sound that we know of. A nice song about love and longing.

‘Shaitan’ tells the story of five youngsters who are out to have a recklessly adventurous time but get involved in a botched crime. They have access to money, are from affluent backgrounds, but they don’t do anything, so they experiment with life like a lot of kids of this generation. Then comes that one moment, an accident, which turns around their lives.

In view of covering up the accident that they are associated with, the five youngsters pass through all the things that they hardly imagine before bringing out their inner Shaitan. Police Inspector Mathur [Rajeev Khandelwal] is trusted upon to deal with this case and what follows tells forms the rest of the story.

There will be too many adjectives that can be used after watching Shaitan but in one word, it is outstanding. Bejoy comes up with a script that usually one associates in real life and the way he handled it, take a bow Bejoy. From the script to the way he narrated it, everything fell in place for Bejoy or so we can say made by him.

The film, which starts off on a slow pace gears its momentum as it proceeds and there’s no stopping till it gets completed. The plot with twists and turns brings out the inner Shaitan of the lead as they fight the inner demons in their own capacities. Not a dull moment disturbs Shaitan as the thriller engages one to the last minute. Dialogues play their role as they are conversational, hard-hitting and youth-centric.

India took a 2-0 lead in the five-match series, after half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel followed up Amit Mishra's career-best bowling to lead them to a seven-wicket victory in the rain-affected second ODI on Wednesday.

Chasing a revised target of 183 in 37 overs due to the rain, after West Indies made 240 for nine from their 50 overs, India reached the target with 20 balls remaining, and Raina earned high praise for setting things up.

"We were expecting to chase something around 260 or 270, but I think the credit has to go to Mishra, he bowled really well," he said.

"At the same time, Munaf gave us breakthroughs at crucial times, and Virat and Parthiv batted very well in the chase."
