What a great weekend for festivals and annual events – culminating with the Granddaddy of them all, the 21st Annual Boston Freedom Rally! The rally is commonly known as “Hempfest,” and is the second-largest marijuana legalization event in the entire country! Every year tens of thousands of people descend upon the Common to support the legalization movement, to learn about hemp as an organic substitute to everyday inefficiencies, to converse with politicians about their platforms regarding marijuana and other pertinent issues… and to catch an entire day jam-packed with some of the best music in the city! This year’s festival is stacked with talent, both on a local and national scale. The event is headlined by 90’s rap superstars Onyx (SLAM duhduduh duhduduh), who have been stalwarts in the underground rap scene since achieving commercial success with that single. They’ll be joined on stage by local acts of all different genres – check out the full listing below! The entire festival will be hosted by the infamous master of Awesomeville and Unregular Radio, Dex MF Ter! Don’t miss out – forecast for tomorrow is 70 degrees and sunny, the entire event is completely free, the bands are great – what more could you possibly ask for? See you on the Common!
