London,International Cricket Council (ICC) is implementing new measures to avoid fixing.ICC is planning to keep under cover agents.These agents will play the role of speculators and then they will contact the players.However, Australians have triggered off the idea of the ICC,they said that this idea is illegal and is of full nonsense.
The work of these agents will be to note the reaction of the players when the speculators approach them.According to the new plans of ICC if any player does not give the information that a speculator has contacted him ICC will punish the player under anti corruption code of ICC.The punishment can be suspension,fine or may be just warning.
ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat told the Sydney Morning Herald, ‘secret’ agent idea is just a plan.In addition it is the board’s governing Council is considering several measures. We want to know what kind of player to be contacted by our agents to respond to.
Lorgat said the plan is still under consideration. Corruption-free sport at the next meeting of the ICC for the other steps will also be considered. However, at this stage is a temporary plan. To ensure the integrity of cricket we are required to take such steps.
