So, your relationship has raeched a level that it’s time to introduce him/her to your parents? Well, it’s not as easy as it sounds, it’s take a hell lot of courage to confess that you are in love. It seems a hell lot more difficult if you are the first one to cut the ribbon in your family.
Does it feel like you and your parents just can't see eye to eye? Are you always arguing with them about YOUR life? Are all the conflicts stressing you out?
Follow these steps to find some peace:
Be sure about it: Figure out the nature of your relationship with your lover or boyfriend as to whether you two are just sleeping together or are more than that or just friends for that matter. It could be very awkward if your parents refer to him as your boyfriend when you two are just sleeping together.
Inform your parents: Earlier than you bring your lover to your house and introduce him, make sure that you have informed your boyfriend about subjects that your parents may be touchy about. Make sure that you share any pertinent information beforehand, so that your boyfriend does not talk blindly when conversing with your parents. Similarly, you should inform your parents about any such thing related to your boyfriend.
Rules: Let your boyfriend know how to act in front of your family in case your family follows some rules and manners. Tell him how to address your parents, whether to call them sir and ma’am or by their first names.
