After having a holy experience in Iran, Tony Blair's sister-in-law, Lauren Booth has decided to embrace Islam who now wears hijab before leaving home, prays five time a day and visits her local mosque whenever she get the chance.
Lauren Booth, 49 who is a Broadcaster as well as a journalist, feels quite happy and calm after converting into Islam.It was six weeks ago when she visited the shrine of Fatima al-Masumeh in the city of Qom and later decided to turn into a Muslim after returning to Britain back.
In an interview she said:
‘It was a Tuesday evening and I sat down and felt this shot of spiritual morphine, just absolute bliss and joy,’She further told that she doesn't eat pork anywhere and tries to read the holy book - Quran everyday also mentioning that she was on page 60.It's been 45 days that she has'nt drink- the longest period in 25 years- although earlier she could barely spend a day without drinking.
Before her awakening in Iran, she had been ‘sympathetic’ to Islam and has spent considerable time working in Palestine. ‘I was always impressed with the strength and comfort it gave,’ she said of the religion.
